Frequently Asked Questions

Our full-time MBA has one intake each year during the first week of March when we welcome two sections of students, and the program is completed by the end of March the following year.
Yes. Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) offers an extended post-graduation work permit for Master’s Programs Graduates that allows international students to remain in Canada to pursue full-time employment and advance their Permanent Residency application after completing their degree. When you graduate from Ivey, you would then be eligible to apply for a 3-year post-graduation work permit regardless of the program duration. Spouses and common-law partners are also eligible to apply for a work permit during this time. For more information, visit the CIC website.
There is no minimum GPA requirement. The last two years of University grades are considered to create a cumulative average. Both the GMAT/GRE and GPA together are considered for the academic strength of the applicant’s profile.
We provide GMAT/GRE exemptions for candidates who have the following professional designations: CFAI, CFAII, CFAIII or equivalent designations in other jurisdictions; Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent designations in other jurisdictions; the professional designation in Engineering (PEng) or in Actuarial Sciences (ACIA or FCIA) or equivalent designations in other jurisdictions. For some candidates, a GMAT/GRE score may not be required for our Admissions Committee to evaluate their academic preparedness for our MBA Program. If you are contemplating applying to our Ivey MBA and have a business or STEM undergraduate degree, we offer a pre-assessment for a potential GMAT/GRE exemption. Simply submit unofficial transcripts and your resume, and we will review your eligibility for a GMAT/GRE exemption before you submit your application.
Approximately 80% of our incoming students (both domestic and international) receive an admission scholarship, ranging from $10,000 to $70,000. In order to be considered for an admissions award, applicants must complete the Scholarships section within the online MBA admission application. There is no separate application for individual consideration. Successful applicants will be notified with their admissions offer prior to the start of the program.
