About City St George’s, University of London

City University and St George’s University are evaluated as separate entities for the QS Subject Rankings 2025, due to the date of the relevant data collection. The merged institution will be evaluated as one entity for QS Rankings from QS WUR 2026 (published June 2025).

On 1 August 2024, City, University of London merged with St George’s, University of London. We are now City St George’s, University of London, one of the largest higher education destinations for London students. 

We are currently operating with separate profiles, so you may see us referred to by our legacy City and St George’s names. This profile relates to our legacy institution (City, University of London) and will be updated to reflect the merger in due course. 

For the 2025/26 academic year, we are operating under a ‘dual running model, with separate application policies and procedures. Programmes and study locations for 2025 entry are expected to remain unchanged.

We are a world class institution at the heart of one of the world’s great cities with first rate buildings and facilities.

Library facilities: Library resources play a central role in the academic journey at City St George’s. The main Northampton Square Library, spread across five floors of the University Building, is complemented by specialist libraries at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass) and The City Law School. Students have access to extensive collections, study spaces, and digital resources to support their learning and research.  

Assistive technology : To ensure inclusive access, Library Services also offers a variety of assistive technologies for students with additional needs. These include software for students with visual impairments, mind-mapping tools like Inspiration, and voice recognition software—all available in dedicated study rooms at Northampton Square Library.  

IT services : Students benefit from cutting-edge IT infrastructure and 24/7 technical support. Every student receives a Microsoft Office 365 account and free use of tools including Microsoft Teams, LinkedIn Learning, online cloud storage, and the full Microsoft Office suite for the duration of their studies.

Computing labs : With campus-wide wireless coverage, students can connect seamlessly from their personal devices or make use of computer labs equipped with more than 140 different desktop applications. Several labs are open 24 hours a day, and students can check real-time computer availability via the university website.  

CitySport: CitySport is the sports and fitness centre of City St George's, University of London providing fitness, wellbeing and sporting opportunities to City students, staff and alumni, as well as students from other universities, local residents and corporate organisations. The building is rated BREEAM excellent and prides itself on its environmental responsibilities. CitySport's 120+ station gym includes the latest cardiovascular and resistance equipment from Matrix and an extensive range of free weights and functional training rigs. CitySport offer a wide range of classes that are delivered by highly-qualified instructors in five spacious fitness studios, with natural light and sprung wooden flooring.

University of London facilities: As a member of the University of London, City St George’s students also enjoy access to a broader network of facilities, including the renowned Senate House Library, which provides additional physical and online academic resources.

City St George’s, University of London, spans three campuses: Clerkenwell, Moorgate and Tooting. Each campus provides a unique atmosphere and a broad range of academic programmes.  

The Clerkenwell campus is just moments from Islington’s vibrant Upper Street and close to the tech and creative hubs of Old Street and Shoreditch. Leafy avenues and green spaces contrast with the lively street culture of Exmouth Market and Hoxton Square, while the nearby Barbican Centre stands as a world-renowned architectural and cultural icon.  

The Moorgate campus is home to Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), located in the heart of London’s financial district. South of the river, the Tooting campus shares a site with one of the UK’s leading teaching hospitals—St George’s Hospital.
