The First Cycle Degree Programme in Biotechnology comprises an interdisciplinary curriculum and enables students to deepen their education in all disciplines of the various biotechnological applications (biomedical-health, agri-food-zootechnical, chemical-industrial and environmental sectors) and in the transversal disciplines.


The objectives of the study plan are:

  • to train graduates to continue their University studies profitably and effectively ;
  • to train a professional figure capable of critically performing to apply biotechnological methodologies, as envisaged by current Italian and EU regulations.


The core learning activities provide the acquisition of:

  1. introductory knowledge of mathematical analysis, algebra, statistics, physics and general biology ;
  2. in-depth knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, cell physiology, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, computational biology, and general pathology ;
  3. knowledge of the main biotechnological applications in the biomedical health, agri-food-livestock, chemical-industrial and environmental sectors ;
  4. principles of bioethics related to the processing and management of sensitive data.
